On Saturday, May 16th, students from Quad A for Kids competed in the All American Soap Box Derby and raced against other students from across the country. The students return to Rochester from the All American Soap Box Derby in Akron as champions. The Quad A for Kids team took second and third place in the Super Stock Division and Third and Fourth place in the Stock Division. The event is one of three upcoming events that highlights the classroom work students have been doing for the past several months. The local race will be held on May 30, 2015 on Lakeshore Blvd in Rochester, NY.

"We are coming home to Rochester as champions this is a great way to celebrate the hard work and dedication that the children have demonstrated related to their STEM activities throughout the school year.” said, Dr. Seanelle Tracy Quad A for Kids Executive Director.

The popularity and success of the program is evident through this year's number of participating students, which has jumped from 13 last year to 28 this year. Some of these students will be traveling outside of Rochester for the first time. The trip is made possible through Quad A and its supporters.

In recent weeks, a company based in NYC visited Quad A for Kids to conduct research for its own pilot program, based on Quad A's program. Quad A for Kids offers programs for Rochester's urban youth outside the normal school hours in a safe environment with caring adults.
